Way better than expected! : Pyle PL71PHB Headrest Pair with Built-in 7-Inch TFT-LCD Monitors (Black)
I would like to start by saying when I purchased these I did not expect much because of the price. I figured they would be functional but probably "look" cheap. I was wrong! These actually look like they were straight from the factory once they were installed. The black matched my black leather flawlessly.
I am a woman with no electrical wiring experience and who has never installed anything in my car and I installed these. There are a couple things to point out. First, these can be wired directly to the car's power source. However, my fuse box is located under my hood and would require LOTS of routing of wires so I opted not to do this. If you have a fuse box located inside the car you could easily do this. You would just need to purchase a product called "Add a Fuse". You could then wire it directly. The hardest part would be "hiding" the wires.
What I did was wire it through my backseat cigarette lighter. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased 4 items. I purchased 2 12 volt AC adapter accessory plugs. They were made by 3m. They were a cigarette lighter on one end with two exposed wires on the other end. I then purchased a AC extender. Basically this looks like a cigarette lighter on one end and then an "extension cord" with two cigarette ligheters on the ends of each of the cords. This was also made by 3m. Then what I did was plug in the extender to the lighter and run each "extension cord" section under each of the seats. I attached the red and black wires from the headrests to the two wires on the end of the cigarette lighter accessory plugs. Then I simply plugged those two accessory plugs into each end of the accessory extension cord. I covered the wires with electrical tape and was set. I then taped the wires along the side of the center console up under the seat. No wires were visible! The only thing you could see was the two extenders coming form the cigarette lighter which wasn't that noticeable. It cost me $10 for all three parts. IT was very easy.
You must have your own DVD playing unit in your car. I just purchased an inexpensive NEXA portable DVD unit that I placed in my center console. You could easily hook this up to an existing DVD unit in the car or to any portable DVD unit.
I am so happy I went with these screens. They were easy to install, look professional, and have a very clean look to them. The hardest part was "finding" the info on what items I would need to use an cigarette lighter adapter over the typical car power source method. All and all I highly recommend these for the price.
